At least seven people were killed and eight others injured in road accidents in Bogura and Mymensingh on Tuesday.聽聽

United News of Bangladesh reported that four people were killed and seven others injured after a bus collided head-on with a covered van in the Banani area of Bogura.


The incident happened at about 4:00am when a night coach of Shah Fateh Ali Paribahan, travelling from Dhaka to Naogaon, collided with the covered van, coming from the opposite direction.

The deceased are Jamal Hossain and Shamim Hossain from Sirajganj鈥檚 Kazipur upazila, Hridoy from Barishal鈥檚 Hizla upazila and an unidentified woman.

Inspector Miladunnabi, in charge of the police outpost at Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital, said that Hridoy, the driver of the covered van, and the unidentified woman died on the spot while Shamim breathed his last on the way to the hospital, and Jamal passed away while receiving treatment.

Among the seven injured, one was released after receiving primary treatment, he added.

抖阴精品 correspondent in Mymensingh reported that three people were killed and another was injured in a collision between a truck and a battery-run auto-rickshaw in Ishwarganj upazila.聽

The deceased are Taslim Talukdar, 35, of Charshihari village, Arifuzzaman Rakib, 18, of Charpara area, and Jahanara Begum, 38, of Noapara village.

The accident occurred when the truck, heading towards Kishoreganj from Mymensingh, collided with the auto-rickshaw, coming from the opposite direction, on the Mymensingh-Kishoreganj road at Harua Bazar.

Ishwarganj police station sub-inspector Md Aminul Islam said that the bodies of two deceased were kept in the morgue of a local health complex, while another body was kept in the morgue of Mymensingh Medical College Hospital.
