
The chairman of the board of directors of Biman Bangladesh Airlines Limited, Abdul Muyeed Chowdhury, said that all corruptions of the airlines would be eliminated.
He made the remark at a view-exchange the airlines’ staffs at its Balaka Conference Room in the capital on Tuesday, said a press release on Wednesday.
Regarding the improvement of passenger service, he said, ‘No passenger must be harassed especially at the airport and in-flight. Airline tickets should be made available to the public. All corruption of Biman Bangladesh Airlines will be eradicated.’
He also said that he would review the financial capacity of Biman and implement the things that were possible within their means.
Informing that the board of directors of Biman will be reformed and restructured, he said that a managing director and chief executive officer would be appointed soon as he would be able to perform the duties of the chairman smoothly in the light of his previous work experience.
He also said that he came to give Biman not to take anything, adding that the overall operations of Biman would be managed under the supervision of the MD and the CEO.
Mentioning the officers and employees of the Biman that if they want him, they have to listen to him, he said, ‘No chaos can be created.’
He also mentioned various notable achievements of Biman during his tenure, saying that during his time, Biman was a profitable airline.
‘I had taken all the decisions of Biman on business considerations. I never bowed down to any unfair demands or influence,’ he added.
