A man was shot to death in a firing in a dispute between two groups allegedly over spreading dominance in front of the Mohammadpur Geneva camp in Dhaka city on Wednesday.
The deceased is identified as Sanu Mia, 30, a resident of Geneva camp in the city.
Confirming the matter, Mohammadpur Police Station officer-in-charge Istakar Hasan told ¶¶Òõ¾«Æ· that police could not confirm what his profession was.
‘Primarily it was known that there was a fight between two groups over spreading dominance. It was also known that Sanu was killed by bullet injuries,’ he said.
However, no one filed any case yet, the OC said, adding that police could confirm the details after the investigation.
Victim’s cousin Md Sajib Khan, who brought the deceased to the hospital, said that Sanu was seriously injured in the firing between two groups in front of Mohammadpur Geneva camp, centered on drug trade and dominance.
Later, he was taken to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where he was declared dead.
‘Everyone in the area knows the people involved in this murder. They are drug dealers.  40-50 people including Bunia Sohail, Rana, Tutul, and Babul, participated in the murder,’ Sajib said.
He demanded justice for his cousin’s brutal murder.
