Members of Rapid Action Battalion recovered the bodies of a 25-year-old woman and her three-year-old child, who were allegedly kidnapped from Padua area in Cumilla three days ago, from Cox's Bazaar town at the night following Tuesday.
The victims are Arifa Akhter, wife of Tanveer, and her daughter Tanisha Islam Anha, hailed from Ashoktola area in Sadar upazila of the district.
On information, a team of the elite force conducted a raid in Shoikotpara area at about 9:30pm on Tuesday in the town and recovered their bodies, Md Kalam Chowdhury, assistant director (Law and Media) of RAB-15, said.
Arifa's family members had lodged a general diary with Cumilla Sadar Dakshin Police Station on the day they went missing.
鈥楴obody was arrested till now. An investigation is underway,鈥� he said, adding that the bodies were handed over to their family members.
