The July Uprising Cell was established on January 8 to support the injured, rehabilitate families of the martyrs, document the uprising’s events, expedite legal proceedings, and advocate for the establishment of a martyrs’ memorial.

On January 21, the government’s Mass Uprising Special Cell published a preliminary list, documenting 858 martyrs and 11,551 injured during the July uprising, which ended the 15-year fascist Awami League regime and forced Sheikh Hasina to flee to India.
