Students of Dhaka University affiliated seven colleges on Monday gave a  four-hour ultimatum to accept their six-point demand, including DU administration to offer an apology taking the responsibility of yesterday’s attack and resignation of DU pro-vice-chancellor Mamun Ahmed.

They also demanded that the authorities should take actions against the Dhaka Metropolitan Police New Market Zone assistant commissioner, police station officer-in-charge and other police officials involved in the yesterday's attack after conducting departmental proceedings.


Eden Mohila College student Sumaiya Akter Shaina presented the demands at a press conference on Dhaka College campus on Monday.

‘Students of DU affiliated seven colleges participated in the July uprising along with the students of Dhaka University and other institutions across the country. Such discrimination with us cannot be accepted,’ said Sumaiya.

Dhaka College student Sajib Hasan said that at least 50 students were injured in yesterday’s attacks and of them, seven were in a critical condition.

Additional police and Armed Battalion members were deployed in Nilkhet area to avoid any untoward situation.

Students of DU-affiliated seven colleges took position inside Dhaka College. They are chanting slogans and holding processions on the campus.
