Today is the 22nd anniversary of death of freedom fighter and politician Advocate Badiul Alam.
To mar the day, Advocate Badiul Alam Memorial Foundation will organise a special prayer session at Chandanaish, said a press release.
He was born at Fatehnagar of Chandanaish in Chattogram in 1926.
During the War of Independence, he was an Awami League regional president in Chattogram and later took on the responsibility of the Socialist Party Chattogram south unit president.
In 1972, he became vice-president of the Lawyer鈥檚 Association and in 1981 became president of the association.
He was also on the committees for the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society, National Cancer Prevention Society, Muslim Education Society and Chittagong Society.
In his village, he helped set up the Fatehnagar Sharifunessa Nazir Uddin Girls鈥� High School, a primary school, and a madrassah.
