A new logo for Bangladesh Police has been finalised, dropping the boat symbol.

The Police Headquarters issued an order regarding the change on Thursday signed by its additional deputy inspector general for logistics Nasima Akter.

‘New monogram/logo has been finalised according to the decision taken to change the existing monogram/logo of Bangladesh Police,’ said the order, adding that the logo has already received approval of the appropriate authorities and is waiting for the issuance of a gazette notification.

According to the order, the new logo features the national flower Shapla (water lily) resting on water, flanked on each side by a sheaf of paddy and wheat and with three jute leaves on top of it. The word ‘Police’ in Bengali shall be written in a semicircle ribbon below the lower joint of the paddy and wheat sheaves.

The order asked all concerned to take preparations to use the changed monogram/logo in flags, signboards, uniforms and other related items immediately after the issuance of the gazette.
