Another shambolic performance from Bangladesh saw them concede a series defeat to USA as they lost the second game by six runs in Houston, Texas on Thursday.

This was also Bangladesh鈥檚 100th defeat in the format, becoming the first-ever team to reach the milestone.

Batting first, courtesy of skipper Monank Patel鈥檚 42, Aaron Jones鈥檚 35, and Steven Taylor鈥檚 31, USA posted 144-6.

Shoriful Islam, Mustafizur Rahman, and Rishad Hossain picked up two wickets each.

In reply, Bangladesh lost opener Soumya Sarkar in the first over for a duck, and then Tanzid Hasan Tamim, who came into the XI replacing Liton Das, in the fifth over for 19.

Skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto and Towhid Hridoy added 48 runs for the third wicket and Bangladesh seemed to be in control of the chase but the former was run out for 36 off 34 balls when he tried to get a single that wasn鈥檛 there.

Towhid fell soon for 25, and while Shakib Al Hasan, scoring 30 off 23 balls, seemed to keep the Tigers in contention for the win as they needed 26 runs off the last four overs, four wickets within 11 balls took that chance away.

Rishad was there until the end and a four in the second ball of the final over brought the equation down to seven runs off four balls, handing Bangladesh a lifeline.

However, he tried to scoop Ali Khan, who picked up three wickets, in the next ball and gave a catch behind to ensure Bangladesh鈥檚 defeat.
