Indian superstar Shah Rukh Khan will be honoured with the Pardo alla Carriera Ascona-Locarno Tourism award at the 77th edition of the Locarno Film Festival, reported ndtv.com.

The festival site announced on Tuesday that the Bollywood superstar will be awarded the festival鈥檚 career achievement award, the prestigious Pardo alla Carriera Ascona-Locarno Tourism, which will pay tribute to his remarkable career in Indian cinema consisting of more than 100 films in a breath-taking multitude of genres.


According to the report, Shah Rukh Khan will receive the award on August 10 at the open-air venue Piazza Grande. One of his most celebrated films, Devdas, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, will also be screened during the festival. Besides, Shah Rukh is set to appear at the Forum @Spazio Cinema for a conversation on August 11.

The Locarno Film Festival is a major international film festival, held annually in Locarno, Switzerland. The festival is scheduled to be held from August 7 to August 17.
