Bhutan’s tourism department has reduced travel fees to $15 from $100 for Bangladeshi tourists each night.

‘Keeping to a visa policy revision, Bangladeshi tourists will now have to pay only $15 in sustainable development fees,’ said the Bangladesh foreign ministry in a release on Monday.

The revised policy came into effect on June 2, the release said.

The amount is equivalent to the fees Bhutan levies on Indian tourists.

The fee was earlier reduced to $100 from $200 for Bangladeshi tourists each night.

‘Under the policy, 15,000 Bangladeshi tourists can travel to Bhutan for reduced fees in a year,’ the release added.
