Rubina Husain was elected the new board president of the Bangladesh Federation of Women Entrepreneurs for the 2024-2026 terms.

The election was held at the annual general meeting of the federation on August 30.


Khadija Afzal and Nazneen Kamal were elected senior vice-president and vice-president respectively at the meeting, said a BFWE press release issued on Saturday.

The others in the new committee include Sadequa Hassan, Benazir Aunon, Shamima Ahmed, Sharmin Jahan, Afroza Naznin Shumi, Sanjida Sultana, Nilofer Karim, Ayesha Siddiqa, Afsana Ahmed, Achia nila and Faiza Ahmed.

Set up in 2006 by its founding president Rokia Afzal Rahman, the BFWE has been working towards empowerment and development of women entrepreneurs through training and skill development.

It provides economic and networking opportunities linking it members and women鈥檚 association from both urban and rural areas of the country, the press release added.
