The leaders of Ganatantra Mancha, a combine of six political parties, on Monday demanded the resignation of the Awami League government and protested against the atrocities of law enforcers to control the peaceful movements of the students in demand of reforms in the quota system in government jobs.

Revolutionary Workers Party general secretary Saiful Huq raised the demand at a press conference at the Rastra Sanskar Andolan central office and said that Ganatantra Mancha would hold a rally on Wednesday protesting against the atrocities of the Awami League government and expressing solidarity with the movements of the students.

The law enforcers committed cruel atrocities and killed more than 200 students, children, and general people to disperse the peaceful movements of the students, Saiful Huq said.

He raised a six-point demand, including withdrawal of curfew, BGB, and army, restoration of the internet, the trial of the killers of students, children, and people under the supervision of the United Nations, the release of the students and leaders of the opposition parties, full implementation of the nine-point demands of the students, reopening of the educational institutions, and stopping block raids and repressions on students and general people.

Ganatantra Mancha will continue its movements until the resignation of the Awami League government, Saiful Huq said.

Rastra Sanskar Andolan chief coordinator Hasnat Quaiyum, Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal-JSD general secretary Shahid Uddin Mahmod Shapon, Nagarik Oikya general secretary Shahidulla Kaisar, Ganosamhati Andolan executive coordinator Abul Hassan Rubel, and Bhashani Onusari Parishad member secretary Abu Yusuf Selim also spoke at the press conference.
