
A case was filed against Bangladesh Nationalist Party leader Shama Obaid in the early hours of Saturday over the death of Kabir Bhuiyan in a clash between two factions of the party in Nagarkanda, Faridpur on August 21.
Bangladesh Nationalist Party on Wednesday suspended Shama Obaid from all the party posts, including that of organising secretary, she held, while also suspended Shahidul Islam Babul from his position of Krishak Dal general secretary after the clash.
The victim鈥檚 widow, Monzila Begum, filed the case at Nagarkanda police station in the early hours Saturday, against 36 individuals and 50-60 unidentified people.
The Nagarkanda police station Officer-in-Charge, Aminur Rahman, told the media that the case had been filed.
Deceased Kabir Bhuiyan, 55, was the son of Abul Basar Bhuiyan of Chagaldi village of Nagarkanda upazila that falls in Faridpur-2 constituency. He was a supporter of Krishak Dal leader Shahidul Islam.
