
Six independent directors of the Dhaka Stock Exchange and all seven independent directors of the Chittagong Stock Exchange submitted their resignation letters, officials of the stock exchanges said.
Sattique Ahmed Shah, acting managing director of the DSE, told 抖阴精品 that all the independent directors cited personal reasons for their resignation.
Shaifur Rahman Mazumdar, managing director of the Chittagong Stock Exchange, said that most of the directors of the Chittagong bourse resigned, citing personal reasons.
At the DSE, Hafiz Md Hasan Babu, Abdullah Al Mahmud, Md Afzal Hossain, Rubaba Dowla, Md Shaheedul Islam and Kawser Ahmed resigned as independent director.
At the CSE, Asif Ibrahim, Abdul Halim Chowdhury, Kaashif Reza Choudhury, Monjurul Ahsan Bulbul, Ishter Mahal, Mohammad Naquib Uddin Khan and Rezwanul Huque Khan resigned as independent director.
This move came after the BSEC recently verbally instructed all independent directors of both the DSE and the CSE to resign, following the discussions about reformation of the bourses.
The instruction came after the Sheikh Hasina-led government was ousted on August 5 by a student-led mass uprising.
