Twenty-five readymade garment factories of the country on Thursday were awarded for their contribution in empowering women workers in the factory, said a press release.

The global fashion brand PVH鈥檚 supply chain factories received the Thrive Champions Awards in nine categories for demonstrating significant, measurable, and evident achievements in implementing the personal advancement and career enhancement training programme.


USAID Women Thrive in Bangladesh Activity organised the award giving ceremony and a discussion at a Dhaka hotel.

The event brought together participants to share lessons learned and best practices from the activity implementations as well as recognises factories for their achievements in providing life and professional skills training to women workers in Bangladesh鈥檚 ready-made garment sector.

Blair King, deputy director of USAID office of democracy, human rights, and governance attended the event as chief guest where Najeeb Sayed, senior director and country manager of PVH Bangladesh, and Ram Das, country director of CARE Bangladesh, spoke as special guests.
