In a joint effort, Bangladesh’s automotive distributor Ifad Autos PLC and India’s vehicle manufacturer Ashok Leyland have introduced the 1-ton power pickup, Leo, to the market.

An inauguration ceremony was held on Thursday at the Gulshan Shooting Club to mark the beginning of Leo’s journey.


The event was attended by Ifad Group chairman Iftikhar Ahmed Tipu, vice-chairmen Tanvir Ahmed, Taskin Ahmed, and Tasfin Ahmed, group managing director Riazul Haque Chowdhury, Ifad Autos COO Amir Daud, Ashok Leyland’s international operations head Rajesh R and senior officials from various leading business organisations.

During the event, it was highlighted that the Leo pickup offers international-grade cabin design, comfortable driving space, and a robust chassis to ensure fatigue-free journeys.

The Leo pickup is equipped with a powerful Japanese technology engine, power steering, 14-inch tires ensuring high ground clearance, and an 8-foot 2-inch large load body capable of efficiently transporting over 1,015 kilograms of goods across all types of roads.

According to Ifad Autos PLC, the distributor of the Leo pickup, the vehicle is designed to support the country’s developmental progress. It has fuel efficiency, exceptional mileage, and a warranty of 5 years or 400,000 kilometres.
