
The Shanto-Mariam Foundation Day 2025 and the 71st birth anniversary of the founder chairman valiant freedom fighter late Md Imamul Kabir Shanto, were observed on Tuesday.
On the occasion, Shanto-Mariam Foundation, Shanto-Mariam University of Creative Technology, and Sundarban Courier Service (Pvt) Ltd organised a three-day series of events, said a press release.
As part of the celebration, a three-day art exhibition was organised at the Creative Art Gallery in the Shanto-Mariam Foundation building in Uttara, showcasing works dedicated to the founder chairman.
On Monday, an elderly housing project for underprivileged and disadvantaged individuals was inaugurated at Shanto Nibas, a dream project of the founder chairman.
On Tuesday, concerned organisations paid floral tributes and arranged a prayer session at Banani grave of Imamul Kabir.
To mark Foundation Day, a children鈥檚 art competition and a blood donation campaign were held on Shanto-Mariam University of Creative Technology campus.
In the afternoon, a cake-cutting ceremony, discussion session, prayer session, and cultural event were held at the auditorium of Shanto-Mariam University.
The event was graced by the presence of Md Ahsanul Kabir, chairman of Shanto-Mariam Foundation, artist professor Mostafizul Haque, chairman of the board of trustees of Shanto-Mariam University, and other members of the BoT and board of directors of Shanto-Mariam Foundation.
The discussion session featured prominent speakers, including Shah-E-Alam, vice-chancellor of Shanto-Mariam University, Hafizur Rahman Pulok, vice-chairman of Sundarban Courier Service (Pvt) Ltd and president of the Courier Services Association of Bangladesh, professor Syed Azizul Haque, dean of the faculty of humanities and social sciences at Shanto-Mariam University, and MA Rashid, professor at Ibrahim Cardiac Hospital & Research Center.
