Bangla New Year-1432 was celebrated at Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology on Monday.
A procession, led by CUET vice-chancellor Professor Mahmud Abdul Matin Bhuiyan, was brought out in the morning to celebrate Pahela Baishakh, said a press release.
A large number of students from different halls participated in various programmes, including a procession with New Year festoons, placards, and flutes.
The closing speech was delivered by Professor Md Mahbubul Alam, director of the directorate of student welfare while the moderator was deputy director (public Relations) Mohammad Fazlur Rahman.
Other events of the day include having Panta bhat and Kite Flying Festival etc.
