
Bangladesh Paediatric Association in a meeting in Dhaka has demanded the reform in the existing child healthcare sector of the country.
The BPA held the meeting at the BPA Bhaban in Mirpur on Sunday, said a press release on Monday.
Chaired by the BPA president Professor Abdul Hannan, the BPA secretary general Yamin Shahriar Chowdhury and treasurer Professor Md Mostafizur Rahman spoke at the event.
The paediatricians also demanded promotion, creation of supernumerary and regular posts, establishment of an international standard government multidisciplinary children鈥檚 institute in Dhaka and appointment of manpower in children鈥檚 hospitals established at all divisional levels of the country.
They strongly demanded necessary reforms in the constitution of the BPA in line with the times and introduction of online voting system.
In order to develop knowledge in line with other developed countries, a strong demand was made by paediatricians for the modernisation of various scientific seminars, journals and websites in future.
Paediatrics Md Shafiqul Islam, Ainul Islam Khan, Md Monir Hossain, Professor Khaybar Ali, Professor Abdur Rouf, Professor Amjad Hossain, Rakibul Islam Khan, Abdur Rouf, ASM Mahamuduzzaman, Mustafa Shira Mou, among others, were present at the meeting.
