A fire broke out at an oil mill owned by S Alam Group in the Mojjartak area under Karnaphuli thana in Chattogram Friday morning.
No casualty was reported.
The fire broke out at the mill at about 8:27am, Said Abdul Malek, assistant director of Fire Service and Civil Defence in Chattogram.
聽He said that, after receiving the information, eight firefighting units from three fire stations rushed to the spot and began to tame the fire.
The fire was doused completely at about 10:10am, he added.
The fire service official, however, could not say the reason of the fire.
He said that there was no worker in the mill when it caught fire as all the staff are enjoying eid holidays now.
Malek said that they were working to identify the cause of the fire and calculate the loss in the fire.
