The police recovered the body of a woman near a cornfield at Boiddargaon village of Gazaria鈥檚 Tengarchar union in Munshiganj on Monday.聽
The woman鈥檚 identity was yet to be known.
However, the police believed her age to be around 25 and suspected that she might have been killed Sunday night.
A bloody knife was also recovered from the scene.
Gazaria police station officer-in-charge for investigation ATM Aktaruzzaman said that initial observations revealed injury marks on the victim鈥檚 neck.
The process to send the body to Munshiganj general hospital for a post-mortem examination was underway, the OC added.聽聽
Al Amin, ward-4 member of Tengarchar union, said that the victim might not from their area.
Local people informed the police after spotting the body at about 5:45am, he added.聽聽
