A 24-year-old man was killed allegedly by his elder brother over a land dispute in Paschim Baluadanga area of Dinajpur on Wednesday morning.
The deceased was Russell Rana Babu, son of freedom fighter and retired police constable Hasan Ali.
The victim was hacked with an axe, said Farid Hossain, officer-in-charge of the Kotwali police station. He was taken to M Abdur Rahim Medical College in the morning and was declared dead at about 4:45pm, he said.
The accused are currently absconding.
The body was sent to a hospital morgue, said the OC, adding Babu鈥檚 family is preparing to file a case.
