Science and technology minister Yeafesh Osman called upon he engineers of the country to come out of the disrepute of corruption.

He was speaking at a seminar titled ‘Smart Bangladesh in Road Development: Role of Science and Technology’ at the National Museum of Science and Technology on Thursday, said a press release.


He said, ‘Engineers contribute a lot to the development of roads and highways and infrastructure, but why should they share the disrepute? If there is a reputation for success in development, why not have a reputation for honesty? Not just an engineer but a good parent who nurtures and idealises children.’

In the seminar, 40 engineers of roads and highways division participated as trainees of special basic training course from Bangladesh Public Administration Training Centre. In the event, National Museum of Science and Technology director general Mohammad Munir Chowdhury called for strict law enforcement by highway police, BRTA, administration and other agencies on roads and highways.

The MDS of Bangladesh Public Administration Training Centre Md Siddiqur Rahman spoke on the occasion. Md Mominul Islam and Nasreen Ara Shaheen, sub-divisional engineers of Roads and Highways Division, presented keynotes in the seminar.
