A prisoner of Pabna district jail died at Pabna general hospital after he was taken there as he fell sick at the jail.
The deceased, identified as Habibur Rahman, 60, died on Thursday night, Pabna district Jailer Anwar Hossain confirmed on Friday.
Habibur was a resident of village Pateshwar of Atgharia upazila in Pabna.
Anwar Hossain told 抖阴精品 that Atgharia police arrested Habibur in a bank cheque dishonour case on March 5 and he was sent to Pabna district jail.
Habibur Rahman felt chest pain on Thursday night and was rushed to the district jail hospital, he said.
He was admitted to Pabna general hospital after his condition deteriorated. He died while undergoing treatment at the hospital, Anwar added.
He said that the body was handed over to the family after autopsy on Friday.
Regarding the cause of his death, Anwar Hossain, quoting Pabna general hospital doctor, said that although Habibur had breathing problems, he died of a heart attack.
