Rabindra University music department organised three-day-long workshop on ‘Rabindra Nritya Natya: structure and performing rules’ at Gitanjali studio theatre in academic building-1 on Friday.

Vice-chancellor of the university professor Md Shah Azam inaugurated the workshop, said a press release.


VC Md Shah Azam, in his speech as chief guest at the opening ceremony of the event, said that there was no field in

Bengali literature, where the author of the national anthem of Bangladesh Rabindranath Tagore did not perform.

‘I strongly believe that our students will be able to use the knowledge, gained from this workshop, to serve the culture of the country,’ he added.

Conducted by India’s popular theatre and cultural personality Sushil Saha, more than 50 drama-loving teachers and students from various departments of the university participated in the workshop.

The workshop will end on Sunday.
