Three youths were killed as a truck rammed a motorbike on the Sylhet-Zakiganj highway at Barothakuri village under Zakiganj upazila in Sylhet Saturday night.
The deceased are Delwar Hossain, 36, a businessman of Kaliganj market, son of late Abdul Shukur of Barothakuri village under Zakiganj upazila, Redwan Hossain, 26, personal assistant of Zakiganj upazila chairman and son of Saad Uddin of the same village and Monjur Hossen, 24, a businessman of Sonasar Bazar of the upazila.
The accident took place in the area when a speedy truck hit their motorbike, leaving three bike riders injured critically, said M Jabed Masud, officer-in-charge of Zakiganj Police Station.
聽They were returning home from Sonasar bazaar at night.
聽Two of the injured were rushed to a local hospital and another was sent to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital where on-duty doctors declared them dead.
The bodies have been kept at Osmani Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
