Fire that broke out in the Amurbunia area at Chandpai range of the Sundarbans East Zone on Saturday doused fully Monday night as rain washed the mangrove forest.
Khulna range conservator of forests Mihir Kumar Doe said that on Tuesday forest department members and fire service visited the spot and checked if any smoke found.
No smoke was detected even in drone surveillance, he said, adding that being confirmed they announced the fire doused.
Forest officials said that a rain Monday evening washed the forest.
Ministry of environment, forest and climate change in a press release on Tuesday said that the committees, formed to investigate the fire, had started working.
