An 18-year-old student died after a train hit him at the railway line in Dhaka鈥檚 Gulbagh area on Monday night.
The deceased was identified as Md Sifat, 18, of Zajira upazila of Shariatpur. He used to live at Jatrabari Nobinagar鈥檚 Mirhajhirbagh area and passed SSC from a school there.
According to witnesses, the incident took place at about 8:00pm while he was crossing the rail line.
Later, he was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead.
Inspector Md Bachchu Miah, in-charge of DMCH Police Post confirmed the incident.
The body had been kept at the morgue of the hospital for post-mortem examinations, he said.
