A road rage conflict led to the death of a 25-year-old auto-rickshaw driver in Amtala under Morrelganj upazila in Bagerhat district Monday night.
The victim, Al Imran Khan, was involved in a minor traffic collision at about 8:00pm when his battery-run auto-rickshaw was struck by a rickshaw-van.
The altercation escalated when the van鈥檚 driver, Nayeem, reportedly stabbed Imran in a fit of anger.
Following the collision, an argument broke out which tragically led to the stabbing, Mohammad Shamsuddin, the officer-in-charge of Morrelganj Police Station, detailed.
Witnesses at the scene promptly intervened, rushing Imran to Bagerhat District Hospital, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
The assailant fled the scene but was apprehended by police early Tuesday.
Police have arrested Nayeem alias Fahad, 18, Shamsuddin added.
