
The 18th death anniversary of Eastern News Agency founding editor Golam Rasul Mallik will be observed today.
To observe the death anniversary of Mallik, a programme has been taken on behalf of his family to feed destitute people and hold special prayers, including Qur’an Khawani, after asr prayers at his own residence, said a press release.
During the War of Independence in 1971, Mallik introduced the Eastern News Agency as a Bengali journalist.
Mallik, also a freedom fighter, was elected chairman to the Bangladesh chapter of the Commonwealth press union for three times and was the first member of the Press Institute Bangladesh.
During his career in journalism, he took interviews of heads of the government of 53 countries.
