
Anhar Ahmed Chowdhury, a prominent businessman and member of the Board of Trustees of the University of Asia Pacific, breathed his last at 10:00pm on Tuesday.
He was undergoing treatment at the United Hospital. He was 74 years old at the time of his death. Anhar Chowdhury had been suffering from leukemia for a long time.
Anhar Chowdhury has been a very active member of the UAP Board of Trustees since its inception. He played a leading role in the progress and prosperity of the university. He is also an active Rotarian.
Anhar Chowdhury served as secretary general of the Gulshan Society from 2012 to 2014. Anhar Chowdhury was born to the late Abul Hasanat Chowdhury at ‹Bhatipara House› at Dargah Gate in Sylhet city in 1950.
At the time of his death, he left behind two sons and a daughter. The UAP family is deeply saddened by his death.
His namaz-e-janaza was held after Zuhr prayer at Gulshan Society Jame Masjid on Wednesday. Later, he was buried at the Banani graveyard.
His relatives, friends, and well-wishers have been requested to pray for the salvation of the departed soul, said a press release.
