Two children drowned in a pond at Shakharia village of Jibonnagar upazila in Chuadanga on Saturday morning.
The deceased are Tabassum, 6, daughter of Ashraful Haque, and Ritu, 5, daughter of Raju Ahmed.
According to their family members Tabassum and Ritu were missing for half an hour. Later, while searching for them, their sandals were found floating in the pond beside the house. Shimanto union parishad chairman Ishabul Islam Milton Mollah said, 鈥楾wo children died after falling into the pond while playing.鈥� SM Jabed Hasan, officer-in-charge of the Jibannagar police station, said that an unnatural death case was filed with the police station.
The bodies were taken home by their relatives, said the OC.
