
UNICEF country head in Bangladesh Sheldon Yett in a statement on Wednesday condemned the killing of a Rohingya teacher in Cox’s Bazar camp.
‘UNICEF is appalled by the killing of a Rohingya teacher by gunfire today in one of the refugee camps in Cox´s Bazar,’ the statement said.
He expressed sincere condolences and extended sympathy to the family, friends and students of the victim.
‘UNICEF strongly condemns any attack against schools and other places of learning, which must always be a safe space for children, and for the staff delivering this essential service.’
