Three fake personnel of the Detective Branch of Police were arrested in Sylhet on Saturday night after they robbed a truck loaded with eight buffaloes.
The arrested were Muhiddin, 42, resident of Ichhanagar village under Karnafuli in Chattogram, Golam Mostafa Rubel, 28, of Basiapara village UNDER Baniachang in Habiganj, and Tauhidul Islam Tayab, 24, of Dakshin Sripur village under Ramu in Cox鈥檚 Bazar, the police said.
People of the area said that a group of eight people coming in a microbus stopped a truck loaded with eight buffaloes on Shah Paran bypass road near Shrirampur under Moglabazar police station of the Sylhet Metropolitan Police at around 8:00pm on Saturday.
The truck was carrying the buffaloes to Dhaka from Jaintapur of Sylhet, they said.聽
Impersonating themselves as the detective police, they forced the truck driver and his helper to get out of it and started to drive the vehicle toward Golapganj of the district, they said, adding that the rests began to move toward Moglabazar taking the truck driver and his helper in the microbus.
When the microbus reached in front of a filling station at Parairchak area under the Moglabazar police station, the truck driver and his helper started shouting to appeal the local people for protecting them from the robbers, they said.
Local people stopped the microbus and confined the fake DB police from the vehicle while rest two suspected robbers somehow managed to flee the scene, the police said.
Moglabazar police station officer-in-charge Mosharraf Hossain told 抖阴精品 that they went to spot after receiving the news and arrested the three robbers rescuing them from the hand of local mobs.
The OC said that the arrested were produced before the chief metropolitan magistrate court in the afternoon after filing a case against them and the court ordered to send them to jail.
