
A Dhaka court on Monday issued an arrest warrant against Siam Hossain, who is now reportedly staying in Nepal, in the case of the murder of the ruling Awami League lawmaker for Jhenaidah-4, Anwarul Azim Anar in India’s West Bengal.
Dhaka additional chief metropolitan magistrate Mahbubul Haque issued the arrest warrant following an application of the DB assistant commissioner of Police Mahfuzur Rahman.
Sher-e-Bangla Nagar police station general recording officer and sub-inspector Jalal Uddin confirmed it to ¶¶Òõ¾«Æ·.
A four-member team of the Detective Branch of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police on Saturday left Dhaka for Nepal to investigate the murder.

A Dhaka court on Friday placed three suspects Syed Amanullah Aman alias Shimul Bhuiyan, his associate Tanvir Bhuiyan, and Celesty Rahman on five-day fresh remand in police custody in the case filed over the murder of Anwarul Azim.
On Monday, Celesty Rahman gave confessional statement to the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court during her ongoing remand period.

The Dhaka Metropolitan Session Judges Court on Monday ordered the police to collect information of 10 accused in the case of Anwarul’s murder in Kolkata, India.
The court also said that the Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit would provide the information of bank transactions to the Detective Branch of Police.
Judge As-Shams Jaglul Hossain passed the order following an application of the investigative officer of the case, Mahfuzur Rahman.
The 10 people include Syed Amanullah Aman alias Shimul Bhuiyan, his associate Tanvir Bhuiyan, and Celesty Rahman, mastermind of the killing Akhtaruzzaman Shaheen along with Md Siam Hossain, Faisal Ali, Mostafizur Rahman, Chelsea Cherry, Taj Mohammad Khan Haji and Md Jamal Hossain.
Four people have been arrested so far in Bangladesh and one in India over the murder.
Anwarul Azim Anar went to India for medical treatment on May 11 and remained missing since May 14.
On May 22, Kolkata detectives confirmed that the Bangladesh lawmaker was murdered.
Police officials said that Bangladesh-born US citizen Akhtaruzzaman Shaheen, one of the friends of Anwarul Azim, was the mastermind behind the murder.
The officials also said that Shaheen fled Bangladesh after the murder, and he is now staying in the US.
