The state-owned Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation will start its six-day special bus services across the country from June 13 ahead of Eid-ul-Azha.

Advance ticket sales began on Monday.


Eid-ul-Azha is scheduled for June 17, with the three-day holiday starting on June 16, followed by two weekly holidays on June 14-15.

A press release, issued by the road transport and bridges ministry on Monday stated that BRTC鈥檚 Eid special services would continue until June 18.

Advance tickets are being sold from BRTC depots in Motijheel, Joarshahara, Kalyanpur, Gabtoli, Mohammadpur, Mirpur, and Jatrabari in Dhaka, as well as from Gazipur and Narayanganj depots.

BRTC buses from Dhaka will travel to Rangpur, Thakurgaon, Panchagarh, Naogaon, Kushtia, Barishal, Bhanga, Gopalganj, Jaipurhat, Jamalpur, Kalmakanda, Rajshahi, Netrakona, Syedpur, Gaibandha, Bogura, Lalmonirhat, Kurigram, Nagorpur, Paturia, Nalitabari, Bhatiapara, Dinajpur, Mymensingh, Swarupkati, and Khulna.

From Gazipur, buses will go to Khulna, Barishal, Rangpur, Bogura, and Mymensingh. From Narayanganj, buses will travel to Bhanga, Barishal, Habiganj, Rangpur, Lalmonirhat, Naogaon, Netrakona, and Bogura. From Cumilla, buses will go to Sylhet and Sunamganj. From Narsingdi, buses will go to Rangpur, Thakurgaon, Panchagarh, Naogaon, and Bogura. From Sylhet, buses will go to Chattogram, Lakshmipur, Mymensingh, Rangpur, and Tarakandi.

Additionally, buses from Dinajpur will travel to Dhaka, from Sonapur to Chattogram and Barishal, from Bogura to Rangpur, from Rangpur to Dhaka and Mongla, from Khulna to Dhaka, Shymnagar-Kishoreganj, and Rangpur, from Pabna to Gazipur, from Mymensingh to Dhaka, Phulpur, Thakurgaon, Rangpur, Gaibandha, and Kurigram.

From Chattogram, buses will go to Rangpur, Barishal, Bhola, Moju Chowdhury鈥檚 Haat, and Chandpur. From Tungipara, buses will travel to Dhaka-Patgati, and from Barishal, buses will go to Dhaka and Rangpur.

The release added that buses could also be reserved by contacting the corporation鈥檚 bus depots.
