Four people, including three motorcyclists, were killed and nine others injured in road accidents in Mymensingh, Sylhet, Narail and Chapainawabganj on Friday.聽聽聽

Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha reported that a man was killed and nine others were injured in an accident on the Nandail-Kendua road in the Bashanhati area under Nandail of Mymensingh.


The deceased, Masud Mia, 40, was a resident of Nandail of the district.

Nandail model police station officer-in-charge Abdul Majeed said that the accident occurred when a Dhaka-bound bus from Kendua hit two easy bikes at around 11:00am.

Police seized the bus but its driver fled from the spot, he added.

The injured were taken to Mymensingh Medical College and Hospital and Nandail Upazila Health Complex.

The BSS also reported that a motorcyclist was killed in a road accident after being hit by a pickup van on the Sylhet-Tamabil highway in Chiknagul Panichara area under Jaintapur in Sylhet.

The deceased, Moinul Hossain Ayani, 55, a resident of Umanpur village under Jaintapur of the district, was deputy manager of Sylhet Gas Field Limited.

Chiknagul union parishad chairman Kamruzzaman Chowdhury confirmed the matter.

Police seized the pickup van from the spot.

In another accident, the BSS reported that a motorcyclist was killed in a road accident on the Narail-Dhaka highway in Hawaikhali bridge area of Narail.

The deceased, Naeem Sheikh, 17, was a resident of Ishangati village under Lohagara of the district.

The accident occurred when he hit the back of a pickup van losing control, said Tulrampur highway police inspector Shaukat Hossain.

Meanwhile, another motorcyclist was killed as a truck hit his motorcycle at Kallyanpyr Fokland square in Chapainawabganj municipality.

The deceased, Jahid Hasan, 45, was a resident of Nejampur village of the district, said Chapainawabganj Sadar model police station officer-in-charge Md Mehedi Hasan.
