Members of the Rapid Action Battalion rescued a schoolgirl early Saturday, eleven days after she was abducted from Sagarpara area in Rajshahi city.
A team of the elite force rescued the schoolgirl from Borobangram Pachanipara area under Shah Makhdoom police station in Rajshahi city at about 2.30am and arrested the suspected abductor Shihabul Islam, according to a RAB-5 press release.
The press release stated that Shihabul had proposed an affair to the schoolgirl, which she refused. Following her rejection, Shihabul began to harass her.
On June 10, Shihabul and others forcibly abducted the schoolgirl in a microbus from Sagarpara intersection.
On the same day, the girl鈥檚 family filed an abduction case with Boalia police station.
