
The Interactive Professional Development Initiatives Foundation and the Bangladesh Institute of Parliamentary Studies organised a workshop on Monday focused on raising awareness of non-communicable diseases and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation.
The workshop, held at the national parliament building, featured speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury as the chief guest, health minister Samanta Lal Sen as the special guest, and state minister for health and family welfare Rokeya Sultana as the guest of honour, according to a press release.
Shirin Sharmin highlighted the global increase in deaths from cardiac arrest, emphasising that awareness and CPR could save lives.
Samanta Lal noted that the health ministry was actively working to raise awareness of non-communicable diseases, especially cardiac arrests, at the grassroots level.
IPDI Foundation chairman professor Abdul Wadud Chowdhury delivered a presentation on non-communicable diseases at the event, which was presided over by KM Abdus Salam, senior secretary to the parliament secretariat.
