
Dhaka University professor emeritus and prominent public intellectual Serajul Islam Choudhury on Saturday said that fascist rule in Bangladesh would be ended and youths would play a prominent role to end the misrule in the country.
He was giving an autobiographical lecture at Bangladesh Shisu Academy auditorium organised to mark his 89th birthday.
Capitalism is patronising fascist rule in different countries around the world, including Bangladesh, which would be ended, he said.
The programme began with a dance drama on the pride聽聽 of Bangladesh written by Anjir Liton where artists of Shishu Academy performed songs praising the ruling Awami League鈥檚 various initiatives.
Notun Digata, a fortnightly newspaper in Bangla, edited by Serajul Islam Choudhury organised the programme to mark the 89th birthday which was observed on June 23.
Capitalism has reached its peak which will be destroyed worldwide and an era of socialism and joint ownership in property will be established, Serajul Islam hoped.

Writer and professor of Integrative/Interdisciplinary Studies at Grand Valley State University in the United States Azfar Hussain read out a short biography of SIC and also conducted the programme.
