Leaders of the Garments Sramik Front on Friday at a protest rally in Dhaka demanded introduction of the rationing system for garment workers.

They also urged the government to provide employee benefits to the garment workers.

The GSF organised the rally in front of the National Press Club where its president Ahsan Habib Bulbul chaired.

Ahsan Habib Bulbul said that garment workers were low-paid and they could not run their families with their wages.

So government should introduce the rationing system for the garment workers from where they could buy essential commodities at cheaper prices.

Moreover most of the garment workers were deprived of their employee benefits and he called on the government to introduce a system so that the workers get their benefits after ending their jobs, Ahsan Habib said.

General secretary of the organisation Selim Mahmud, central leaders Khalequzzaman Lipon, Soumitra Kumar Das, Saiful Islam Sharif and others spoke at the rally.
