
Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University vice-chancellor professor Deen Mohd Noorul Huq said that new additions to the existing law were required to fully operate super specialised hospital and the issue had already been discussed with the chief justice, attorney general and others.
He made the comment in response to a question from journalists at the 32nd national conference of Bangladesh Society of Pathologists on paraclinical science teachers and doctors on BSMMU campus on Saturday to spread accurate diagnosis and service activities at the marginal level, said a press release.
‘No equipment of the super specialised hospital has been damaged so far. So, I request the journalists not to spread misleading news about it,’ BSMMU VC also said.
Health minister Samanta Lal Sen was the chief guest at the conference, while state minister for health Begum Rokeya Sultana was present as special guest.
Presided over by the president of Bangladesh Society of Pathologists professor AN Nasim Uddin Ahmed, professor Shah Monir Hossain delivered welcome speech at the event. Professor Syed Mukarram Ali spoke as an honoured guest.
Among others, general secretary of Bangladesh Society of Pathologists professor Rezaul Karim Dewan and organising committee member secretary professor Debatosh Pal spoke. Chairperson of the organising committee professor Nasima Sultana thanked all participants.
The second phase of the conference was the scientific session, where BSMMU former vice-chancellor Kamrul Hasan, former dean professor M Iqbal Arslan and eminent teachers of the country attended.
