
The BRAC University’s business school’s flagship women entrepreneurship training programme ‘Uddami Ami’ concluded Cohort 6 at the university’s new campus at Merul Badda in Dhaka on Saturday.
The closing ceremony celebrated completion of the training by 20 women entrepreneurs across various sectors, said a press release issued on Monday.
Bangladesh Bank’s SME and special programme department director Mohammad Ashiqur Rahman, HATIL’s company secretary Md Rezaul Karim, BRAC University registrar David Dowland, and BRAC business school acting dean Professor Mohammad Mujibul Haque were present at the event.
Ashiqur Rahman reminded the participants of the government support available to women entrepreneurs through Tk 35,000 crore allocations by Bangladesh Bank.
He also encouraged the participants to expand their business models and products to avail these funds.
Rezaul Karim requested the BRAC business school and BRAC University to undertake developing local business cases so that students and entrepreneurs could learn the local context of dynamics of business in the country.
David Dowland thanked BRAC business school, BRAC Bank PLC, Bangladesh Bank and Hatil Furnitures on their collaborative effort to make the training programme a success.
The BRAC business school is actively engaged in up skilling entrepreneurs and professionals in the country, including developing local business cases through the 1st International Case Conference on Business and Management, said Mujibul Haque.
The entrepreneurship training programme trained nearly 120 women entrepreneurs since its inception in September 2021.
