An Indian citizen died and twelve people were injured in a head-on collision between two buses on the Dhaka-Khulna Highway at Faltita in Fakirhat upazila of Bagerhat district.
The deceased was identified as Sridhar Ganguly, 45, son of Bheem Ganguli of Birbhum upazila in West Bengal, India.
Sheikh Nuruzzaman, officer-in-charge of Mollahat Highway police camp, said the Dhaka-bound Dola Paribahan bus plunged into a roadside ditch after colliding head-on with Benapole-bound Rajib Paribahan bus, leaving one dead on the spot and 12 others injured.
The injured were taken to different hospitals.
Sridhar Ganguly, who was returning to India, came to his ancestral home at Debgram under Kotalipara upazila in Gopalganj district on June 16.
