Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University vice-chancellor professor Deen Mohd Noorul Huq said that the university would open paediatric intensive care unit or PICU with the existing manpower very soon.
He made the announcement at a meeting held with department heads and teachers of paediatrics faculty, teachers of anaesthesia analgesia intensive care medicine department and paediatric surgery department on BSMMU campus recently, said a press release.
Professor Noorul Huq also gave necessary directions in this regard.
The university, currently, has ICU, CCU, NICU but no PICU, an area within a hospital specialising in the care of critically ill infants, children, teenagers, and young adults aged 0鈥�21.
