
Leaders of the Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal-Jasod, a partner of the ruling Awami League-led alliance on Saturday at a protest rally in Dhaka called on the government to take immediate steps against mass corruption and syndicates responsible for price hikes of the essential commodities.
Jasod organised the rally in front of its central office on Bangabandhu Avenue where its central leader Shafi Uddin Mollah chaired.
General secretary of the party Shirin Akhter said at the rally that the government must take immediate steps against the people responsible for mass corruption as it was tarnishing the image of the country both at home and abroad.
She also demanded taking steps against syndicates and hoarders responsible for abnormal price hikes of the essential commodities.
Central leaders of the party, Shawkat Raihan, Rokonuzzaman Rokan, Mohammad Mohsin, Shaifuzzaman Badsha and others spoke at the rally.
The rally was followed by a protest procession that paraded different city roads.
