The plaintiff of a murder case on Saturday accused the investigation officer of pressurising her to compromise with the murder accused.

Farida Akhter Keya, daughter of Mozzammel Haque Faruk, made the accusation against Police Bureau of Investigation sub-inspector Shamim Akther at a press conference.

Farida said that she filed the case with the court against five people, including her step-mother and step-sisters on charge of killing her father in October 2023to embezzle the latter’s assets, and the court ordered a PIB investigation into the case.

‘The court asked the PBI to exhume my father’s body and perform an autopsy. But, the investigation officer neither did an investigation into the case nor took any legal move to exhume the body for autopsy,’ she said.

She alleged that the investigation officer, instead, was pressurising her to compromise with the accused.

SI Shamim Akhter, however, denied the allegation and told ¶¶Òõ¾«Æ· that the woman filed the case against six people, including her brother, step-mother and two step-sisters. ‘We are investigating the case in our way,’ he added.
