
Leaders of two women oganisations on Saturday at a human chain formed in Dhaka called on the government to restore justified per cent of the quota for women in government jobs.
The 10 per cent previous quota for women was dropped in the latest Appellate Division verdict on job quotas in public services.
The Socialist Women Forum and Women Cell of the Communist Party of Bangladesh formed the human chain at Purana Paltan crossing where central leader of women cell Maksuda Akter Lily called on the government to resolve the ongoing movement of the students fulfilling all demands of the students and restoring the justified women quota.
The women would be deprived of government jobs competing with men, she said.
SWF central leader Rokhsana Afroz Asha, women cell central leaders Luna Noor, Joly Talukder and others spoke at the rally.
