Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Maritime University vice-chancellor Rear Admiral Mohammad Musa has been awarded the honorary fellowship by the UK Centre for Business and Economic Research, Oxford University, said a press release.

He received this honour during the two-day 13th International Conference on Restructuring of the Global Economy – Promoting Sustainability, which concluded on Tuesday at the Oxford University in the United Kingdom.


He was awarded in appreciation of his outstanding national and international contributions to maritime issues.

Mohammad Musa, an alumni of the Royal College of Defence Studies and King’s College, UK, also delivered a keynote paper titled Sustainable Ocean Economy: Bangladesh’s Journey on the Roadmap to a Blue Economy at the conference.

The CBER, Oxford University honorary fellowship award will facilitate engagement in global seminars, research presentations, and high-impact publications, enhancing the global reputation of both the institution and Bangladesh, the press release added.
